PostSubject: Waldos Weekly Deck Article (#3) This week, Blackwings.   Sun Jul 15, 2012 3:44 pm

Blackwing Background:
Blackwing monster's have a unique thing to them, the level 3 and lower are real birds, while 4 and up, look a bit more human-ish (Sirrocco, all the syncors, Raven, etc). They were used by Crow Hogan in 5Ds, one of the signers.
Deck Speed:
This deck is made for quick 1st turn over powering. With a good hand you could have 3 monsters on the field, one being a tuner. Then you can bring out a variety of powerhouse beaters. You do need to be careful though. You can run out of hand with these decks.
Deck Construction:
My shot at a Blackwing deck (One of my best decks, at your disposal, your welcome :p)
Monsters (25):
2x Blizzard of the Far North
2x Bora of the Spear
1x Elphin the Raven (Quoth the Raven, Nevermore Very Happy )
2x Fane the Steel Chain
1x Gale the Whirlwind
1x Jinn the Rain Shadow
1x Kalut the Moon Shadow
2x Kogarashi the Wanderer
1x Mistral the Silver Shield
3x Shura the Blue Flame
3x Sirocco the Dawn
1x Vayu the Emblem of Honor
^^Blackwing goes first then - (Blackwing- SHura of the Blue Flame)^^
1x DAD
2x Dark Grepher
2x Man-Eater Bug (Good troll card, people never expect it, plus its 2 stars for a syncro.
Spells 6:
1x Allure of Darkness
1x Black Whirlwind
1x Heavy storm
1x Monster Reborn
2x MST
Traps 14:
1x Blackwing- Backlash
2x Blackwing- Bombardment
1x Blackwing- Boobytrap
1x Delta Crow- Anti Reverse
2x Icarus Attack
2x Jar of Greed (Draw when you dont have hand power)
1x Mirror
1x Negate
1x Judgement
1x Warning
1x Tribute
(New) Sample Hand!:
Shura the Blue Flame
Bora the Spear
Sirrocco the Dawn
Blackwin boobytrap
Blackwing Whirlwind
Jar of Greed
(New) End of turn:
Blackwing Armor Master and a Shura on the field with Jar set and Whirlwind.
Weakness:
Again, if you can keep cards in your hand this deck shouldn't have many problems. But it's speed can be a problem. It runs your hand dry, draw power is needed!
So there you go, one of my favorite decks. Broken down.

I agree with Primus dude. Too many monsters.

personally I prefer armageddon knight over greapher because you can get vayu into the grave without a cost. But in our mirror duel a few weeks ago you did show me greapher's strengths so I've started running one.

If Disney's "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" has taught us anything, it's that no matter how great your personality, if you're fuck ugly, you're fuck ugly, and you won't get the girl

I was just saying I think there's too many monsters. But I'm not telling you to change it. If 25 is what you wanna run, you go right ahead. After all I run 24 most of the time, so I really can't say anything. I just thought it was a bit much for BW. I think a lot of people stopped running monsters like bug and night assailant because Stardust Dragon was introduced, so I suppose you're right in saying it would be unexpected and I love how run some of the more forgotten BW's like fane, because people also expect the likes of gale and breeze to be used for black whirlwind and shura's effect. I was only trying to give a bit of constructive criticism. Besides, I said I LIKED greapher. Wink
